North Arlington In Bergen County Named Among Top 10 Best Places To Live In America
Earlier this month, Money Magazine released its list of the 10 Best Places To Live In America and Bergen County's own North Arlington came in number 8. Many of the town's residents were not surprised as they already know what a great place it is to call home.
Money Magazine looked at communities with a population between 10,000 to 100,000 and based its list on eight broad categories: cost of living (for instance, how high are the taxes?), the economy (are there new jobs being created?), housing ( is the area's real estate appreciating and are homes still affordable?), education (what is the area's graduation rate?), crime (is living there a crime risk?), convenience (how is the commute?), cultural, and recreational amenities (do residents have access to entertainment, museums, and libraries?). The list also eliminated those towns that had double the national crime risk, lacked ethnic diversity, or had less than 85% of the state's median household income.
Residents of North Arlington enjoy living in an area with a small-town feel yet have all the perks one would expect while living in the city. Just 15 miles from the financial district in New York City, it is ideal for commuters and it offers residents an excellent school district, as well as having a low crime rate.
When it comes to entertainment North Arlington provides easy access to the Meadowlands Sports Complex, where spectators can watch the New York Giants or the New York Jets play. Those living in North Arlington also enjoy spending time at the 85-acre Riverside County Park, which offers tennis courts, a dog park, fitness center, bocce ball, and a playground.
